We so enjoyed our stay in The Limes. A warm welcome, a lovely room, a very comfortable bed and a superb breakfast with lots of choices. If you intend to stop in this area be sure to check availability at The Limes

Thanks Penny for a lovely 3 nights stay. We really enjoyed the quiet comfortable room, breakfast was delicious and we were very appreciative of the extra multiple coffees and hot chocolates in our flasks as well the sandwiches to sustain us on our days out. See you again we hope!

We had a lovely nights stay at The Limes on our way to Scotland. It would have been lovely to spend a few days here and we will plan to come back and explore the area.
Our room was cozy and comfortable. The house is beautiful and we were made very welcome by Penny.
Before setting off on our journey we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and bought a selection of Penny's homemade cakes to eat on our journey 😇
Well worth driving a few miles off the M6" for!!

Coming back for the 4th time, Pennys warm welcome made us feeling like coming home.
We enjoyed the lovely spotless room with the relaxing view. Waking up with the smell of Pennys excellent homemade bread in the nose and the outlook of her delicious breakfast, how can there be a better start in a new day?

Definitely a fist class guesthouse, with a firstclass landlady. Penny looked after us very well. Everything was immaculate, great food for breakfast and a very pleasant atmosphere.
A splendid writeup online of The Limes, highly detailed gives you confidence in what to expect before you stay and the price for our three nights was most reasonable.Written by an old exB and B landlady for 30years...Shirley

We recommend The Limes to everyone. Spotless accommodation with great breakfasts available and packed lunches if needed. Good advice on places to eat. Loads of wild birds to watch on feeders whilst having breakfast including some very special ones ! - Lovely place - Nick & Lynda88401

We stayed as a group of four for one night in June 17 whilst undertaking the Pennine Way. Penny welcomed us with a relaxed and friendly style. After giving us a brief tour of our rooms, we were invited to have afternoon tea/coffee with delicious homemade flapjack. The garden is well presented and looks out onto adjoining fields filled with Alpacas, sheep, rabbits, hens and different wild birds. The accommodation was immaculate and a delight to stay in. The full Cumbrian cooked breakfast was delicious and sufficient to set the two boys on their way for another 14 miles of hiking. A lovely find and great peaceful location. We hope we will be able stay again for longer in the future. Thank you Penny for your kind hospitality. Gary, Jan, Mark and Kate
