The Limes is the most pleasant B&B we have stayed in. With a very warm welcome from Penny and her husband, we felt very much at home. The accomodation was very clean and warm. The food was appetizing and plenty. We will definately be returning to the Limes in the future. Highly recomended.

What a beautiful setting & very easy to find! The Limes is immaculately clean and the decor is fresh and modern. Penny is a lovely host and a breakfast of fresh produce, nicely cooked, awaits you while you enjoy the garden & birdlife from the window. Cant believe I've driven up & down the M6 and missed out Cumbria all these years! Thank you Penny.

Over the hills and far away Go to Eden Valley and visit today! Easter time we arrived quite late Tea and flapjacks there on a plate Lovely rooms modern and clean A speck of dust never to be seen Evening time you complete your sheet Breakfast choices there’s plenty to eat Bacon, sausages, salmon too Continental it’s up to you Wake up quick and get out of bed Your sense of smell - Yes its home made bread! Mrs Orange has cooked for you Poached or scrambled one or two? Eat and chatter and take your fill With a window of scenery over the hill Mr and Mrs are both helpful and kind Restaurants and long walks they will find Nothing too much trouble at the Limes to stay Travellers return for another day The Limes in Colby welcomes all So pick up the phone and give them call.

We stayed here the weekend of 26-28 March 2010. The surrounding area is great for road cycling, lots of quiet roads and hills. The great thing about the Eden valley is that it is handy for the lakes, dales as well as being a superb area in its own right. The bikes were as welcome as we were, and got their own room. Breakfasts were a cyclists' dream! The local sausage and black pudding were particularly tasty. We will definitely be back!
